Getting ready for TET

Last night we decided it was time to have Iyla try on a couple of her 'ao dai's (traditional Vietnamese outfits-- pronounced OW ZIE (rhymes with die) in preparation of a Tet/Chinese New Year Celebration on Friday night. We bought four different ao dai in Vietnam during our many shopping excursions (remember the closet picture?). The ones we selected were sizes 1, 2, 5, and 6 and are in various shades and styles. They are all silk and incredibly beautiful! I just wish we would have bought MORE!! Thankfully, a coworker of Michael's goes to Vietnam to visit family a couple times a year and has asked what he can bring back for us. Hmmm..... I will have to make a list and probably offer to pay the fee for his luggage overage!! :)

Here is the results of last night's fitting/fashion show....

She tried on both size 2-- a in a lovely shade of peach:

And a size 1-- in a beautiful shade of aqua. I think we are going to have her wear the aqua for her first Tet party as she will not be able to fit into it much longer!!!

We could not resist putting her special child-sized 'non la' hat on to complete 'the look'.
