Iyla's birthday present has arrived and was put together. As far as the assembly (you know, some required...) well, it only took 3 college graduates about two hours and the use of power tools. Pre-drilled holes-- not exactly my idea of PRE-drilled.... Anyway, the kitchen has been built and now Iyla can play to her heart's content making food and trying out the various gadgets. The pots and pans even make different noises when placed on the stove. Truly a far cry from the Little Tikes kitchens from years past. The microwave makes noises and the phone rings. It is amazing.
Well needless to say, Iyla came down from her nap and was SHOCKED to see her birthday present in all its glory (nearly put together) ready for her. She had the greatest time trying out the kitchen and trashing the place. She even has a step stool so she can reach the tall appliances and cabinetry-- yes cabinetry (with pulls!).

Wow! Every girls dream. That looks like an awesome kitchen set. I always love the "some assembly required" part. Especially at Christmas. Not! ~Michelle
Hi everyone!
As one of the "3 college graduates" privileged to help build Iyla's new kitchen I am very proud of our efforts! How often is it that a new kitchen is built in 2 hours? I especially liked how we "installed" the floor! Thanks for letting me be part of this wonderful activity-what a delight it was to see Iyla's expression!
Love, Grandma L.
