These shoes are meant for walking....

We took Iyla for her first shoe fitting at Stride Rite on Sunday afternoon. Shoes from Stride Rite are the essential trapping of all middle-class children in America so, why not Iyla?! It brought back memories of shopping for my shoes as a child at Stride Rite.

Anyway, there were several shoes to choose from and the sales person was incredibly knowledgeable of how to select the perfect shoe for Iyla.
First, Iyla was measured-- and she is officially a size four. Next, we were led to the stage 2 cruise shoes. These shoes have a flexible sole-- good for new walkers and a rubber 'bumper' to protect toes from furniture.

As this was Iyla's FIRST trip to Stride Rite, what better to commemorate the event than with a picture?! Stride Rite took this one of Iyla and her new shoes-- how cute!
