Tuesday, September 17th

Well, today we had a fairy low-paced day... After a fairly busy night. Iyla was up quite a bit and needless to say, we are ALL exhausted!!! This morning, we woke up early and Michael went to file for Iyla's Vietnamese passport with the others and the PLAN staff. He was gone only about an hour, and then we played with Iyla, bathed her, and got her dressed. Next, we went for lunch downstairs in our hotel and took her to the mini-mart for a little shopping. Later we met up with Jason and Dana with whom we accompanied to the Old Quarter in Hanoi. We went to their hotel, the Lucky Star and we also went to baby street. We shopped around this jam-packed, activity-rich street and managed to purchase a stroller for the not-so-little-especially-when-carried-one. She did really well in the stroller and it reclines and has room for storage- a good purchase for around $25 American.
After we got back, we played some more and then Iyla started the nap of her life at around 6pm. We both joined in on the nap, had some dinner, and are getting ready for bed.
Tomorrow, I think we are going to the SOS clinic for a check-up (not adoption-related) and to the famous Hanoi Hilton. The Hanoi Hilton-- both the real Hilton and the infamous prison are right outside our hotel compound. In fact, the prison was torn down and the Somerset tower was built over where one of the wings was. The only part that remains in a museum now-- sure to be interesting to see....
Here are a few more pics from yesterday. Sorry that we can't post them all-- it takes FOREVER to upload them and is not very cooperative.....
During the ride to go get Iyla!!

Yoy think she's heavy now? Better start working out. Wait until she's 5 years old, falls asleep on the couch and you have to carry her to bed! She's gorgeous. Do you know how much she weighs now?--Auntie Michelle
